Mizzou football is entering the Eli Drinkwitz era and hopefully will get to play in 2020. What does their schedule look like? Let’s take a look at the Tigers’ 2020 season schedule.

After a disappointing season in 2019, the Missouri Tigers look to rebound in 2020. Obviously things could change this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and that could include opponents, but as of now, Mizzou will face their usual group of SEC East opponents along with a few other SEC West foes.

Mizzou starts the season with two home games, one against Central Arkansas and the next against Vanderbilt. It’s a bit unusual for MU to jump right into SEC play, but they’ll do that just two weeks into their 2020 campaign. The Tigers should be able to handle Central Arkansas, but they’ve had some struggles against the Commodores over the years.

Next up, Missouri hits the road for the first time in 2020, traveling from one Columbia to another. They’ll face the South Carolina Gamecocks, a team who has managed to have their number over the years. MU got the better of them last season, but prior to that, the Gamecocks were riding a pretty impressive winning streak over the Tigers.

In the fourth week, MU hosts their second non-conference opponent – this time Eastern Michigan, who they should be able to defeat pretty easily. After that they’ll travel for two straight games, first to Tennessee and then to BYU. Neither of these will be cakewalks for Mizzou, especially with Tennessee building momentum this past season.

Two straight home games are next up with the Tigers hosting both Georgia and Kentucky, two teams they’ve struggled against. Kentucky in particular has been able to crush Mizzou in heartbreaking fashion in recent years. Georgia has simply dominated them, but maybe this game being in Columbia will help the Tigers out.

Mizzou hits the road twice in a row once more, heading to Starksville to play Mississippi State and then Gainesville for a date with the Florida Gators. Neither of those games will be easy and taking place on the road makes it that much more difficult.

The Missouri Tigers close out the year with two straight games in Columbia, hosting LA Lafayette in a late season non-conference match-up and close things out against Arkansas on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Looking at this schedule, Mizzou football should be able to go at least 6-6 and qualify for a bowl game in Eli Drinkwitz’s first season at the helm.
