ROUND SEVEN, PICK 23 (237TH OVERALL)

B+. . CB. Tulane. BOPETE KEYES

You can’t give this pick a bad grade when all of Chiefs Kingdom thought the team was done with the draft after round five. Of course, they did have to give up a pick in next year’s draft to take him, but still, this is an additional pick that wasn’t expected, so we can’t grade too hard on a bonus pick.

More from Chiefs Draft Analysis

Keyes has the size and builds to be a successful NFL corner and a 78-inch wingspan! That puts him in elite company with Jeff Okudah, Bryce Hall, and Trevon Diggs as one of the top wingspans amongst all corners in the draft, so yet another player with plus physical traits. I don’t know a lot about Keyes either, but excited to see him once training camp arrives.

Recap

I had to throw some of my bias out the window and be a little critical, but overall I would call this a successful draft for the Kansas City Chiefs. I didn’t get all the players that I wanted, but I loved the first three picks and am excited to see if KC can turn the athleticism into a good product with our mid-late round picks.
