Las Vegas Raiders: Pass Rush

If typing Los Angeles Chargers instead of San Diego still feels weird, typing the Las Vegas Raiders feels borderline blasphemous. That is the reality we live in today though, and the Raiders live in the reality of having to play Patrick Mahomes twice per year. This is grabbing an pass edge rusher should be at the top of the Raiders wish list.

Once again, receiver is a need here and the Raiders are poised to grab one of the top prospects this year. Matter of fact, that is what they will probably do.

With two first round picks, they are in prime position to add a receiver and and edge rusher. I truly believe the Raiders should wait on selecting a receiver though. This draft is deep at the position, and they could still grab a top tier player at 19. Pass rush doesn’t have that same luxury, as this is a pretty top heavy class.

Grabbing  potential star rusher to pair with last years top selection Clelin Ferrell and breakout surprise Maxx Crosby would be the smart way to go. Las Vegas could just look at the Super Bowl and see what the 49ers did to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense much of the night with a frightening defensive line.

While I don’t want a great pass rush chasing Mahomes for years to come, the Raiders would be smart to try and make that happen tonight in the first round.

… and there you have it! Hopefully the other AFC West teams don’t pick up on this and go in a totally different direction so that the Kansas City Chiefs can continue to own the division for the next decade plus.
