Nebraska Football: Four Huskers to keep an eye on in 2020 NFL Draft
Nebraska football has four prospects that could hear their names called in the 2020 NFL Draft. Who are they and when might they get selected?
The Nebraska Cornhuskers might not have had the 2019 campaign that many had hoped they would, but there are at least four seniors from the 2019 team who could hook on with an NFL team come draft weekend.
The most likely Husker to hear his name called is cornerback Lamar Jackson, who should be an early selection on Day 3 of the draft. Jackson spent four years in Lincoln and had quite the career for the Huskers. This past season saw him total 40 tackles, 12 passes defensed, and three interceptions.
The Draft Network has Jackson as their 166th best prospect in the draft, landing him squarely in the fifth round of the draft. They also have him rated as their 21st best corner in the draft. Jackson would fit nicely into certain teams’ schemes, but he’s a project pick for sure and likely wouldn’t be thrust into the action anytime soon.

The other potential player who could get drafted is Khalil Davis, a five-year player at Nebraska who had a monster 2019 campaign in Lincoln. Davis had eight sacks and 11 tackles for loss during his final year as a Husker and while his senior campaign showed that he has potential, Davis likely won’t be taken before the seventh round.
Davis is The Draft Network’s 215th prospect, which has him lined up as a seventh round pick. He’d be a nice depth piece for any team to have, but he won’t be a day one starter.
Two other Huskers to pay attention to in the 2020 NFL Draft are Carlos Davis and Darrion Daniels. Either of these guys getting drafted might not be the most realistic scenario, but they should be able to land with a team as an undrafted free agent.
Carlos Davis spent five years with the Cornhuskers and had four sacks last season. Daniels spent 2019 with Nebraska after having played at Oklahoma State for four years. He finished his lone season at Nebraska with 27 tackles and half a sack.
Last year was the first time Nebraska football didn’t have a player drafted in 50 years, so hopefully this year begins a new streak for the Huskers. It should, as Lamar Jackson appears to be a near lock to hear his name called at some point, even if it’s on Day 3.
How many members of Nebraska football do you think will be drafted in 2020?
