2020 NFL Mock Draft: KC Chiefs address offense with early round picks
While defense might be what KC Chiefs fans want to see the team fixate on this offseason, offense is what they’re known for and they need to keep it up to snuff.
This mock draft isn’t the most realistic because there’s almost no chance that the Chiefs would spend the first three picks on offensive positions. Taking a running back in the first round might tick some fans off, but it’s essentially a second round pick, plus Jonathan Taylor is a stud. He’d immediately improve the Chiefs run game, which is something that needs improvement.

With Blake Bell signing with the Cowboys, the Chiefs don’t have a suitable backup at the tight end spot and that’s why drafting one in the second round wouldn’t be a bad idea. Adam Trautman left Dayton as the all-time leading receiver and would need a few years to sit behind Kelce and learn the ropes.
Taking an offensive lineman with their third round pick would be a smart investment too even if he’d need a few years to learn the system. Ben Bartch might have played Division III football, but he made a jump on the draft boards after impressing at the Senior Bowl.
The two defensive players might not be anything more than special teams contributors, but they could hopefully blossom into more if all goes well.
This mock draft lives up to the mock label because it’s not super realistic, but the Chiefs still need to keep their offense loaded. As long as Patrick Mahomes is their quarterback, the offense will be what this team is known for.
