WINNER: FOURTH QUARTER DEFENSE

After allowing points in every quarter and looking gassed, the Chiefs defense buckled down and pitched a shutout in the fourth quarter. This defense came a long way from the unit we saw in week one and even though they allowed 140+ yards to that Niners run game, they made plays and got stops when needed most.

WINNER: FOURTH QUARTER OFFENSE

The Niners did a nice job stopping Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in the first three quarters, but we all knew it wouldn’t be long before the eventual Super Bowl MVP got it going. He and the offense put up 21 points in the fourth quarter and Damien Williams’ 38 yard run was the clincher.

There was a point in the game when it was 20-10 in favor of the 49ers where Joe Buck said “The Chiefs have the 49ers right where they want them” and he wasn’t lying. The Chiefs made a habit of coming from behind and they did so once again, scoring three touchdowns in the final quarter to win the game and be the world champions of football.

WINNER: CHIEFS KINGDOM!

Chiefs fans have suffered a lot throughout their lives, but it all led us to this moment and I think we could all agree that it was worth it. It was worth those playoff collapses and moments of heartbreak in order for us all to be here experiencing this. Our Chiefs are Super Bowl champions, baby!

I mentioned that I normally do “Winners and Losers” after each game, but it just didn’t feel right to talk about the losers for the Chiefs because none of them are losers tonight. Every single one of them is a champion and will be remembered in Kansas City forever.

SUPER BOWL CHAMPS, BABY!
