Five reasons Kansas City Chiefs will beat Titans in AFC Championship
By Chris Clark
Unfinished Business
Last year’s AFC Championship was a wild ride for the Kansas City Chiefs and their fans. The Chiefs were able to overcome a slow first half against the Patriots and push the game into overtime. Unfortunately, the Patriots were able to take advantage of a worn out Chiefs defense. If there was any silver lining to that game, it was the fact that Chiefs fans got a glimpse of what this team is capable of doing.

There’s no doubt now that this team is fully capable of making it to more than just the conference title game. The overarching theme this season is how the Chiefs have handled adversity. From injuries to losses to overcoming a 24 point deficit in the divisional game, this team doesn’t know how to quit. Don’t be surprised if Tennessee comes in and hits Kansas City in the mouth and don’t be surprised when Kansas City hits back.
This is more than just beating the Titans. This is about a Chiefs team that was worthy of at least playing in the Super Bowl last year. What’s even more encouraging, this is a team worthy of winning it all this year. This game is about avenging last year’s loss and laying hold of what the Chiefs haven’t for five decades.
For this Chiefs team, the coaching is too good, the talent is too good, and the moment is just right. The Titans have been building momentum at season’s end, but the Chiefs have been building momentum since that loss in Tennessee.
As they showed last week against the Texans, this Chiefs team won’t lay down and die. The Chiefs have unfinished business and they’ll take another step in finishing that business on Sunday.

There’s no question that the Tennesse Titans are a legitimate opponent. Kansas City has the appropriate leadership on the sidelines and on the field to not overlook such a team.
The moment of each week continues to get too big for the Titans, but this moment isn’t too big for the Chiefs. This is the same team that the Chiefs faced earlier in the season, but this is not the same team that the Titans faced earlier in the season.
Just like they’ve done all year, the Chiefs will overcome whatever obstacles come their way. This was a process that began after last year’s conference title game. This year is different, though, and the Kansas City Chiefs will beat the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship.
The Lamar Hunt Trophy will finally find a home where it truly belongs.
