By John McCarty
Plenty of talent will see the field during the National Championship Game and those are players who could eventually see the field for the Kansas City Chiefs.

There will be plenty of talent to keep an eye on while Chiefs fans watch the National Championship game on Monday. I chose not to mention linebacker Isaiah Simmons from Clemson because there’s no chance he’s on the board when the Chiefs select. Past that, my favorites of Fulton and Higgins will be competing against each other in the biggest game in college football.
With the Chiefs likely having quarterback Patrick Mahomes under a rather large contract – okay, massive deal – by the time the draft rolls around, the Chiefs will need to rely on draft picks and their lower pay scale to provide depth on the bottom and middle of the roster because of the cost of Mahomes.
For me, keep an eye on four players in particular come Monday night.
I’ve already mentioned Fulton and Higgins, but the next players are LSU’s center Lloyd Cushenberry and Patrick Queen. Both would fit positions and areas of need, and Cushenberry could compete for playing time immediately as the Chiefs center.
Hopefully the Chiefs find some talent from this game because these players are some of the best in the entire country and they’ll need playmakers in 2020 and beyond.
