KC Chiefs: One reason to be afraid of each AFC playoff team
BUFFALO BILLS (FIVE SEED) – PASSING DEFENSE
The Chiefs could potentially host the Bills in the Divisional Round and if that ends up happening, they’d be most troubled by the Bills’ secondary, which has been one of the league’s best this year. Tre’Davious White has been phenomenal for Buffalo and has put their secondary on the map.
With Kansas City’s lack of dominant run game and their struggles in the Red Zone, having to put the ball in the end zone to win the game could be tough against this unit. Of course, the Bills haven’t played great when up against truly good offenses, but for now, this would be what scares me the most.
HOUSTON TEXANS (FOUR SEED) – DESHAUN WATSON
To be perfectly honest, there isn’t a ton that really frightens me about the Texans. Don’t get me wrong, they’re still a great team and more than worthy of being in the playoffs, but their defense isn’t particularly good and their offense is so wishy washy.
That being said, Deshaun Watson would be the most frightening factor if Kansas City were to host the Texans in the Divisional Round. When Watson played the Chiefs in week six, he wasn’t dominant as a passer, throwing for 280 yards, one touchdown and two picks, but he made up for it in the run game.
The numbers weren’t insane, but Watson found the end zone twice with his legs, and that, in turn, made the difference that Sunday afternoon in Kansas City. With the Chiefs’ struggles against mobile quarterbacks, I’m worried that Deshaun Watson could deal them all kinds of fits in the playoffs.
