The NFL playoffs begin on Saturday with the two AFC Wild Card games taking place first and then the NFC games to follow on Sunday. What is one reason for KC Chiefs fans to be afraid of every team in the AFC playoffs?

The Kansas City Chiefs won’t suit up this weekend, but they’ll be anxiously awaiting their opponent for the Divisional Round. Kansas City can get three potential opponents for next Sunday’s match-up: the Patriots (#3 seed), Texans (#4 seed), and Bills (#5 seed). They cannot host the Titans in the Divisional Round.

To get everyone hyped for the playoffs, let’s take a look at one reason why every team in the AFC playoffs could be scary for the Chiefs to square off against, starting with the sixth seeded Titans.

TENNESSEE TITANS (SIX SEED) – DERRICK HENRY

No, the Chiefs can’t play the Titans in the Divisional Round and Chiefs Kingdom is EXTREMELY grateful for that. Simply put – The Tennessee Titans have owned the Kansas City Chiefs in the Andy Reid era and none of us can really quite put our finger on it as to why that’s the case.

Oh wait, yes we can. It’s because of Derrick Henry.

Henry has been very up and down as a pro since he took his talents from Alabama to the NFL, but he probably wishes he could play the Chiefs every single week. In his three games against Kansas City, Henry has totaled 55 carries for 402 rushing yards and five touchdowns.

We all remember what he did to KC this season in week ten (which just so happens to be the Chiefs’ last lost), but the most brutal memory of them all was when he rushed for 188 yards and two scores against them in the Wild Card game two years ago. Absolutely brutal.

If the Chiefs and Titans somehow meet up in the AFC Championship Game, the Kingdom might act like they’re confident, but deep down, they’d be terrified of having to defeat Derrick Henry in order to advance to a Super Bowl.
