MOST INTIMIDATING – HOUSTON TEXANS

Finally, we have the Houston Texans.

Houston is the only team on the list to have actually beaten the Chiefs, but that’s not why they’re here. Similar to the Titans, the Houston Texans are an incredibly explosive team.

Deshaun Watson is a great quarterback, who has a deep group of talented receivers. The Texans have a solid running back core led by Chiefs castoff Carlos Hyde and have DeAndre Hopkins, who is arguably the best receiver in the league. Throw in the return of J.J. Watt, which will improve their defense and you have a scary unit looking to make a deeper playoff run than people are giving them credit for.

That being said, their offensive line is weak and their defense is the worst of any team left in the playoffs. Most crippling of all, the Texans are terribly inconsistent. One week they are beating the Chiefs or Patriots the next they’re getting blown out by the Broncos.

If the Texans are on, however, they have the talent to compete with everyone, especially the Chiefs. That’s why they scare me the most in the divisional round.

The Kansas City Chiefs are a different team from the one we saw lose to the Texans in week six, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t fear the team from the AFC South. All I know is that I’m relieved there’s ZERO chance Kansas City will have to play Tennessee next weekend because that match-up was not one that I was fond of.
