DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES, KANSAS CITY CHIEFS FANS?! Well, you should start! The Chiefs will have next week off after defeating the Chargers, and the Patriots losing to the Dolphins!

Oh. My. Gosh. The unthinkable has happened, Kansas City Chiefs fans!

Not only did the Chiefs beat the Chargers to go a perfect 6-0 against the AFC West, but in an unlikely scenario, the Patriots fell to the Miami Dolphins and we should all consider naming our first born after Ryan Fitzpatrick.

After the Dolphins looked like a team capable of going 0-16 after two games into the year, who would have seen this coming? I sure as heck wouldn’t have, but here we are; The Kansas City Chiefs will have next week off, and the New England Patriots will be playing on Wild Card weekend for the first time since 2010.

This is a huge turn of events and give credit to the Chargers for battling throughout. No one would have known that LA was a five-win team by watching this game, but the Chiefs were the better team on the field and that showed at the end of the day.

Patrick Mahomes wasn’t crisp, but he didn’t have to be, as the run game finally become a strength. Damien Williams rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns and as a whole, the run game totaled 162 yards on the ground against the Chargers.

The defense looked gassed near the end of regulation, but they were on the field a lot in the second half. Los Angeles had nothing to lose in this one, so they took a lot more unusual risks than they normally would.

The storyline in this one though is hands down going to be how the Kansas City Chiefs continued to battle for the two seed after a midseason slump and now they’ll have next weekend off. Meanwhile, the Patriots will have to play next weekend, and the hope is that a tough Titans team wins in Houston this afternoon and can go into Foxboro and knock that team off their high horse.

What a day for Kansas City Chiefs fans!

So, we’ll have all next weekend to watch the other Wild Card games and look forward to a divisional home game at Arrowhead in two weeks. What a crazy weekend this was.
