MVP CANDIDATES

Number 1 – Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens

Another week, another win for Lamar Jackson. Coming in at our top spot three weeks in a row is the new face of the NFL. He’s now the clear front runner and it’s his MVP to lose.

More from KC Kingdom

The Case For

What else can be said? Jackson has continued to prove his dominance over the league time and again. He’s far past just getting narrative votes as he’s arguably the best player in the league right now.

The Ravens may even have the luxury of resting him in week 17 if all goes right. There would need to be a mighty fall for Jackson in the coming weeks for him to lose out on his first ever MVP award.

The Case Against

At this point, it’s hard to come up with one. The Bills win wasn’t exactly amazing, but it was another really good win over a quality team and he rebounded by pounding the Jets.

He still has a lot to prove with his arm when it counts, but he hasn’t exactly had that opportunity all year. If he does rest in week 17, that will hurt him slightly, but it may take a miracle for Wilson, Rodgers, or Mahomes to take his MVP trophy.

MVP Moment:

Week 12 vs. Rams – 15/20, 169 yards passing, 5 passing touchdowns, 8 rushes, 95 yards rushing, win.

“Did he just do that?” Play:

39-yard run against the Texans in week 11.

At this point, the MVP race seems wrapped up. It’s Lamar Jackson’s to lose, but that doesn’t mean other player can’t make a late season push.

Will Patrick Mahomes be able to fight his way back into MVP contention?
