WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE BRONCOS?

It looked like the Denver Broncos were about to come away with the surprise victory of the week, but then we were all reminded that they’re a three win football team for a reason. The Broncos lost to the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 27-23 after leading 20-0 at the half. Yes, you read that right.

The Broncos were dominating the then 7-3 Vikings and honestly couldn’t have scripted the first half any better. They forced turnovers, hit Kirk Cousins right and left, and their offense made the plays necessary to take a 20-0 lead into the locker room at half time.

Just like Denver has done so many times this season, they crumpled in the second half. The Broncos put up just a lone field goal in the second half of the game while Minnesota turned things around and scored 27 points in two quarters.

Brandon Allen did all right in his second start for Denver, going 17 of 39 for 240 yards, one touchdown, and one pick. The pick was pretty bad and was what started the turnaround for Minnesota.

Courtland Sutton continues to be the star of the Broncos offense, hauling in five catches for 113 yards while also completing a 38 yard pass. He has been a dream come true for the Broncos and is their saving grace on offense.

While Sutton was certainly a star on Sunday, Shelby Harris might have shone the brightest, tallying three sacks and five tackles on the afternoon. The Broncos pass rush, after looking invisible the first few weeks of the season, has come to life recently, sacking Cousins five total times this week. Harris led that charge for sure.

The Broncos hit the road again on Sunday for a date with the Bills in Buffalo in the early window of games.
