WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE CHARGERS?

It’s looking like Philip Rivers‘ time with the Chargers is nearing the end, as he’s been terrible this year. He threw four interceptions against the Chiefs on Monday Night Football in a 24-17 loss, and had not one of those picks occurred, the Chargers probably win that game.

Rivers threw for over 350 yards and a touchdown, but yeah those four interceptions on the stat sheet are an eyesore. He’s a shell of himself and it won’t be surprising if this is the final year for Rivers not just in Los Angeles, but in the NFL period.

The LA run game didn’t go for over 100 yards, but they were playing from behind. Austin Ekeler continued to be a star in the receiving game, however, grabbing eight balls for 108 yards. Mike Williams also continued to dominate Kansas City. If the Chargers played the Chiefs every week, maybe Williams wouldn’t be such a bust.

The defense limited Patrick Mahomes, holding him to under 200 yards passing, but they only sacked him once, with Melvin Ingram notching that sack. It’s crazy how with a pass rush that good, the Chargers are only 4-7.

It’s baffling how a team as talented as the Chargers fell so quickly this year. While their playoff hopes aren’t completely dashed, they’d HAVE to win out the rest of the year and Rivers just isn’t playing at a high level this season. He’d be a detriment to them in a playoff game.

Los Angeles gets a much needed bye week before playing in Denver in week 13.
