KC Chiefs: What we learned about each team in AFC West after week 10
WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE RAIDERS?
I’m not ready to say that I think the Oakland Raiders are a good team just yet. That being said, they have a winning record and their schedule is very easy over the next few weeks. This team has a chance to be 7-4 by the time they face Kansas City in week 13. Think about that for a minute.
Oakland narrowly defeated the Chargers last week on Thursday Night Football and Josh Jacobs continued to state his case for Offensive Rookie of the Year. He had 71 yards rushing with a touchdown to go along with 30 yards receiving. He’s been sensational and has helped turn things around in Oakland.
Derek Carr is quietly having a nice season and no, he doesn’t throw the ball far, but his team is winning games and that’s all that matters, right? He only threw for 218 yards last week, but had a touchdown and no picks. He was sacked three times though, which is a rarity, as that Raiders offensive line is very good.
Rookie Clellin Ferrell feasted against that Chargers o-line, notching 2.5 sacks while his team totaled five on Philip Rivers. The pass rush hasn’t skipped a beat without Khalil Mack this year and their receivers have been fine without Amari Cooper and Antonio Brown.
Give Jon Gruden credit here, folks, he’s done a fine job with this team this year despite the drama in the offseason.
Next up for the black and silver is a home game against the winless Cincinnati Bengals. So yeah, Oakland is about to move to 6-4. Let’s hope the Chiefs play better next week because otherwise, a new team might be atop the AFC West when I next write this post.
