Despite new names on the sidelines, the results are the same. Time to move on now.

Starting left tackle for the Wildcats is Scott Frantz, who is from Lawrence. Jax Dineen, starting fullback is from Lawrence as well. Wide receiver Keenan Garber and Ekow Boye-Doe provide depth for the Wildcats are also both from Lawrence.

If you play football in the state of Kansas, why in the world would you want to go anywhere, but Kansas State? But perhaps more succinctly, why waste your time in Lawrence?

With a roster that was undersized and under athletic in years past, this team is going bowling with statement wins against Mississippi State on the road, Oklahoma at home and the absolute destruction of the instate rivals on ‘their’ field. The train is moving toward bigger and better things.

For the Jayhawks, well, it’s now officially basketball season and go cheer for the roundball fans. Nothing signifies Kansas sports quite like their radio commercials. On Friday prior to the Sunflower Showdown, a local radio station was promoting the Kansas football team.

On Monday, November 4th, the same station was now promoting the basketball team. (Yes, Kansas basketball has, and is, an elite program). Hard to imagine trying to promote and advertise for the giant cooked bird the Wildcats put on the field this past weekend.

For Wildcat fans, there is nothing more satisfying than a nicely fried dinner, Jayhawk served with sides and a cold beer. It’s a right of passage.

To borrow a common phrase of this week, for the Jayhawks ‘football’ program, you certainly have Miles to Go. Chris Klieman and Wildcat football program showed just how long a road you have to travel.

That’s it, I have a nice fried chicken dinner waiting. Go Cats.
