6. A Comedy of Human Errors: From 3rd-&-1 to 4th-&-27

With eight-and-a-half minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and the Chiefs down 23-20, the offense faced a 3rd-&-1.

After a holding penalty on Kelce, they faced a 3rd-&-11.

After a false start penalty on Erving, they faced a 3rd-&-16.

After a sack for an 11-yard loss, they faced a 4th-&-27.

Sheesh.

Thankfully, and I can’t believe I’m typing this, the defense bailed them out by forcing back-to-back three-and-outs on Minnesota’s final two possessions.

7. Shady, Where Art Thou?

For the game, LeSean McCoy had four touches for nine yards. What happened there? Why was he no where to be seen? Is he in Reid’s doghouse? Is this because of his costly fumble last week?

Whatever the reason, it’s clear that Shady’s taken a backseat role in this offense.

8. Moore’s Fumbles

A bit finicky of me, I know, I know, but were Moore to continue as the starting quarterback, that might be a concern. He fumbled twice against the Vikings, but neither were lost, including one on the first play of the final drive.

Which: did you catch the confusing of FOX’s Kevin Burkhardt and Charles Davis on that play? It’s almost as if neither of them knew a certain, well-known NFL rule.

9. Five Drives, 16 Plays

The Chiefs had 13 total drives against the Vikings. But four of them were three-and-outs and another lasted four plays in which the team actually lost yardage. Tally that up, and it’s just 16 plays over five drives.

10. Maybe Block Stephen Weatherly Next Time?

Back to the Chiefs final drive of the game. After Britton Colquitt, Brother of Dustin Colquitt, punted the ball just 27 yards for the Chiefs, Kansas City took over in great field position at Minnesota’s 45.

But on the very first play of the drive, Vikings defensive end Stephen Weatherly burst through the offensive line and sacked Moore for a loss of 10 yards. Moore lost control of the football, but thankfully Damien Williams was right there to pick it up.

And, fortunately, the Chiefs gained 30 combined yards on the next two plays, with completions to Kelce and Hill, respectively, to set up Butker’s game-winning kick.

Yet: holy cow, block Weatherly next time, eh? He almost blew up the game right then and there. That was definitely poor play by the beleaguered offensive line.

Eric Fisher and LDT need to get healthy to coincide with Mahomes’ return or the reigning MVP is gonna have a hell of a time.
