KC Chiefs: What we learned about each team in AFC West after week 5
WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE BRONCOS?
Much like the Chiefs are no longer undefeated, the Denver Broncos are no longer winless. They got their first win against the Chargers in the late window of games.
Denver had a 17-0 lead at the half and it almost looked like they could potentially blow that again, but nope. This time they held on and walked out of Los Angeles with a 20-13 victory, their first of the season and their first under head coach Vic Fangio.
Joe Flacco wasn’t great, but he didn’t have to be. Phillip Lindsay rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown and Denver as a whole totaled 191 rushing yards. Courtland Sutton continued to be great in the receiving game, hauling in four receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown. The offensive line is still brutal, allowing three sacks on Flacco.
The defense forced their first and second turnovers of the year, picking off Philip Rivers twice. They did not sack him however.
For Broncos fans, finally winning a game was a huge weight off their shoulder, as the franchise had never been 0-5 in their entire history. While 1-4 isn’t great, it’s definitely better than 0-5. Denver looks to move to either 2-4 or 1-5 next week when they travel to Nashville for a date with the Titans.
