WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE CHIEFS?

For the first time this season, the KC Chiefs are coming off a loss, and it stings. They didn’t play well against the Colts in primetime and it really was just one of those games that you want to throw in the trash and forget about. Unfortunately, we can’t do that quite yet.

Kansas City was demolished on the ground, as the Colts racked up 180 rushing yards and held onto the ball for 15 minutes longer than the Chiefs did. That’s right – Indy had the ball for nearly an entire quarter longer than KC did. That is not okay.

Patrick Mahomes still threw for over 300 yards, but was not the same quarterback we’ve seen throughout his young career. He was sacked four times, hit eight times, and was hobbling off the field quite frequently. The offensive line did him no favors on Sunday night.

The run game was also pathetic, notching just 36 yards and doing next to nothing all night. LeSean McCoy also fumbled, which was annoying. The pass rush was invisible and Frank Clark has still yet to make an impact.

There was a lot to be upset about in this 13-19 loss to a much inferior team, but if the Kansas City Chiefs don’t learn from it, then that’d be the worst possible thing to come from this game. Here’s to hoping they rebound next week at Arrowhead Stadium against a Texans team that hung 53 on the Falcons.
