KC Chiefs: What we learned about each team in AFC West after week 5
WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE RAIDERS?
I have no idea what to think about the Oakland Raiders. At times, they looked fantastic on Sunday. Other times, they were throwing the ball into the backfield and looking like a dumpster fire of a team. With that said, however, the Raiders handled the Bears with a 24-21 victory in London.
It looked like the Raiders were going to run away with this one early on, but the Bears came roaring back and made a game of it late. Oakland held on though and moved to 3-2 on the year, officially confusing everyone who follows football.
For all of the talk of Chicago’s defense being the next great thing in the NFL, they sure got owned by Jon Gruden and company. Rookie Josh Jacobs rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns while the run game as a whole put up 169 yards on the ground.
Derek Carr had a very Derek Carr-like game, as he threw for 229 yards with zero touchdowns or picks. He also wasn’t sacked once. Khalil Mack was nowhere to be found in this revenge game for the former Raider.
As much as I like to poke fun at the Raiders for their disfunction, they handled the Bears defense with ease, which isn’t something many predicted they’d do. I have to give credit where credit is due and the Raiders deserve a whole lot of credit for what they did on Sunday. They’ll head into the bye week with a 3-2 record.
