The Kansas City Chiefs will have in-house decisions to make along with decisions in free agency.

More from KC Kingdom

As mentioned previously, the KC Chiefs only have two cornerbacks under contract past this season. Starters Kendall Fuller and Bashaud Breeland are both set to be free agents after this season. I would imagine the Chiefs would like to bring back at least one of their own (I’d imagine Breeland would be that player).

However, I’d fully expect the Chiefs to look into free agency to augment and build up their corner depth. Jones is the best option but is likely the most coveted by other teams and would be the most expensive.

Would the Chiefs defensive coordinator be interested in bringing in a player he had to suspended at a previous stop? That could be what we discuss when it comes to Eli Apple potentially joining the Chiefs.

Ravens Jimmy Smith would be an interesting option but has only played a full season twice and not since 2015. His career has been plagued by injuries.

Regardless of what the Chiefs do, expect the Chiefs to address and do so changing of personnel this upcoming offseason in their unending effort to fully figure out how to stop the forward pass.
