KC Royals: Several big changes will decide next direction for organization

A tidal wave of Royals prospects is coming beginning with a slow trickle in 2020 and an opening of the flood gates in 2021 and 2022. Injuries and lack of development will cause some of these prospects to miss their timelines or miss their opportunity altogether.

There are also the prospects who haven’t been drafted or signed via the international market to take their place. There are likely players in the system who may develop quickly and unexpectedly causing the Royals to make room on the major league roster.
If the farm system builds on its tremendous championship success the past two years, the Royals will see the fruit of that labor in the next few seasons.
