6. Porous Run Defense

More from KC Kingdom

Ingram ran the ball 16 times for 103 yards and three touchdowns. Jackson rushed the ball eight times for 46 yards and a touchdown. Gus Edwards gashed the Chiefs for 7.6 yards per carry on seven attempts. Yes, pounding the ball is the identity of the Ravens, but the Chiefs need to get better defending the run, and quickly.

7. The First Offensive Drive

It looked so promising before turning so ugly.

There was the Watkins fumble that Hardman recovered. Then a timeout had to be burned. Next, Mahomes was rushed and hammered and flagged for intentional grounding for getting rid of it in the vicinity of, um, no one. Two plays later, Mahomes took a sack for -11 yards, pushing the Chiefs out of field goal range.

Atrocious drive.

8. Jackson’s Rushing Touchdown

He made several Chiefs look silly as he found the end zone.

9. Mahomes Getting Hit

Early in the game, seemed liked Baltimore was willing to take some penalty yards in order to lay some licks on Mahomes. After getting penalized for a horse-collar tackle, though, things slowed down.

10. Head-Scratching Secondary Gaffs

Both came in the fourth quarter. On the first, Kendall Fuller let Seth Roberts break away from him and grab Jackson’s heave, getting taken down at the 2. The second came on the very next play when Jackson, who had scrambled to his right, lofted it across his body and across the field to Willie Snead IV. Charvarius Ward had a play on it, and yet Snead made the grab for 23 yards.

Those are two plays that should’ve been turnovers, and instead led to a total of 10 points for Baltimore as the Ravens never quit fighting and pushed the Chiefs until the very end of the game.
