KC Chiefs trending up and trending down after preseason week 1
TRENDING DOWN
KYLE SHURMUR (QUARTERBACK)
Kyle Shurmur started camp as a long shot to make the roster, but with a strong preseason, he will be able to find a final spot and a seat in the quarterback room. This year the number three quarterback spot is up for grabs and second year Chase Litton is pushing to keep his job after out playing him in the first game of the preseason.
Kyle Shurmur has his work cut out for him early this year and will need to improve his game and show more accuracy with his passes to take this job.
KHALEN SAUNDERS (DEFENSIVE TACKLE)
The rookie out of Western Illinois was nowhere to be seen in week one of the 2019 preseason. With a crowded defensive front already, Khalen Saunders need to get his nose in on more plays and put some positive numbers on the stat sheet.
Rookie or veteran, showing you can play with the best is always the route to take. I don’t see a situation where he doesn’t make the roster, but he may be playing himself onto the sideline more than the field by not making any noise.
