FANTASY FOOTBALL DEFENSES/SPECIAL TEAMS TO TARGET

Number 1 – Chicago Bears

2018 Fantasy Points Ranking: 1st

2018 Points Allowed Ranking: 1st

The Bears were the number one D/ST in fantasy last year by a wide margin. The difference in Chicago’s fantasy point total and the second highest D/ST total last season was 44 points. That’s a bigger difference than the difference between the second highest total and the 15th highest total last season.

Chicago is clearly the best fantasy defense in the league. Khalil Mack is another one of the most dominant forces in the league and may have surpassed J.J. Watt for the second best defender in the league.

The Bears were the best in the league in points allowed and interceptions, both of which are very important for fantasy defenses. They were also tied for third in sacks, which isn’t too shabby either. The best defense in the league was an easy pick here and it really isn’t particularly close.

Owners should feel very lucky if they land the Bears defense in fantasy this year and this is one team that I personally would be very comfortable drafting in the 13th round. If they put up points like they did last year, they would be a bargain in the 13th round. I tend to stick to the “last two picks” rule for my D/ST, but this is one team that I would be willing to break the rules for.
