Mizzou football has released the times for several of its 2019 games. Now MU fans can plan accordingly as we head into a new chapter of Missouri Tigers football!

The 2018 season didn’t end the way Missouri Tigers fans hoped, but there’s still a lot to look forward to in 2019.

For one, MU landed graduate transfer Kelly Bryant, who had previously spent time at Clemson. Bryant brings a top notch quarterback to Columbia after Drew Lock graduated and is now off to the NFL (to play for the Broncos unfortunately).

Missouri fans can start to make plans for the 2019 season, as kickoff times have been released for a few games on the 2019 schedule. Here are those games, times, and network that fans can watch on (all times are central):

  • August 31st – at Wyoming – CBS Sports (6;30PM)
  • September 7th  – West Virginia – ESPN or ESPN2 (11AM)
  • September 14th – SEMO – SEC Network (6:30 PM)
  • November 29th – at Arkansas – CBS (1:30PM)

The Tigers start their season off in Laramie to square off against the Wyoming Cowboys. Missouri took it to the Cowboys last year, defeating them 40-13 in Columbia in their second game of the year.

It’s a bit puzzling why Mizzou is playing their home opener at 11:00 AM. West Virginia is a quality opponent and this should be one of the more competitive games being played that day, so an 11 AM kickoff is a little odd.

Not only that, but the following week, the Tigers host SEMO and that’s a night game. Why couldn’t these times have been switched? MU vs West Virginia would be a highly entertaining game to watch in the later hours on that second weekend, but instead, it’ll be one of the first games to finish up that day.

Lastly, the Tigers head to Arkansas for a 1:30 kickoff on the day after Thanksgiving. Missouri absolutely pounded the Razorbacks last year in Columbia, so hopefully it’s a similar story for the 2019 match-up.

We’re still waiting for kickoff times for the other games on the schedule, but the most intriguing ones are against South Carolina, Mississippi, Kentucky, Georgia, and Florida. Mississippi is a unique one because the two don’t play each other all that often despite both being in the SEC.

The other four are opponents MU plays every year and three of them beat the Tigers last year. South Carolina and Kentucky narrowly defeated Missouri while Georgia capitalized off of five Mizzou turnovers in Columbia. Ugly losses for sure.

Out of those games, Missouri hosts the Gamecocks, Rebels, and Gators while traveling to Kentucky and Georgia.

The kickoff time for the West Virginia game is disappointing for sure. Missouri is playing a quality non-conference opponent in the second week of the season and wasn’t rewarded for it at all. They’ll play the game at 11:00, which is a bummer considering it’s a good match-up between the Big 12 and SEC.
