Kansas State football season is almost here and the kickoff times for the first three games of the 2019 season have been released!

The Kansas State Wildcats are heading into year one under head coach Chris Klieman and while it’ll be weird not having Bill Snyder patrolling the sidelines, there’s still a lot of K-State fans to look forward to in 2019.

The first three games of the season will be against non-conference opponents and now fans can plan accordingly, as the times for these games have been announced. Listed below are the date of the game, the opponents, the network the game will be on, and what time they’ll be kicking off.

August 31st – Nicholls – ESPN+ (6:00 PM)

September 7th – Bowling Green – FSN (11:00AM)

September 14th – at Mississippi State – ESPN/ESPN2 (11:00AM)

More from KC Kingdom

The Wildcats should begin the season at 2-0, hopefully being able to handle both Nicholls and Bowling Green. Mississippi State defeated K-State in Manhattan last year (31-10), so the Wildcats will look to get revenge on the Bulldogs, but they’ll have to do on the road in Starkville.

According to the press release via K-State’s website, it’ll be the first meeting between Kansas State and Nicholls. The Wildcats haven’t played Bowling Green since destroying them 58-0 in 1997. I previously mentioned that KSU and MSU met up last year in Manhattan, but they trail the all-time series 2-1.

The times aren’t real shocking, as Nicholls and Bowling Green don’t really thread the needle much. Kansas State is likely looking at a down year, so them not being in the spotlight as much as in years past shouldn’t really shock anyone.

K-State and Mississippi State might have made a decent primetime match-up, but it could also be one of the better early games on that September 14th slate. It’s a decent Big 12/SEC match-up, that’s for sure.

These are only the non-conference match-ups, so we’ll still have to wait to see when Kansas State plays their Big 12 foes, but this is still exciting and obviously gets fans pumped for the season to come. We’re not sure what things will look like under Coach Klieman, but he had tons of success at North Dakota State and will hopefully bring that positive mojo with him to Manhattan.
