The Kansas City Chiefs need to exit Friday with additional depth at wide receiver. Could Missouri product Emanuel Hall be that target?

With long-term concerns of depth with Demarcus Robinson, a free agent after the 2019 season, and Sammy Watkins due to a large contract number in 2020, receiver depth is an issue. On Friday night, do the Kansas City Chiefs look locally at Missouri receiver Emanuel Hall?

Hall, a four-year contributor at the University of Missouri (roughly two and a half hours from Kansas City), could be a Day 2 target for the Chiefs. There’s a need at the wide receiver position and Hall fits the bill as to what the Chiefs could need.

Eric Quackenbush of Truman’s Tale website provides a bit of insight into the Tiger receiver who may very well be on the radar of the Chiefs on Friday night.

What does Hall do well? Where does he excel?

In my experience watching Mizzou football, Emmanuel Hall has a nice burst of speed, is able to separate from defenders, and has good size to be able to out maneuver defenders when going up for the ball.

He was also an exceptional weapon and route runner for the Tigers.

Where does Hall be better? Where does he need to improve?

I think Hall should, and can, polish his overall abilities to become a go-to receiver on Sundays.

Where does he excel?

His big play ability in the open field.

Can/ will he block?

I never saw Hall as a good blocker. If he’s coached to block, then I suppose that’s a possibility

Who is Emanuel Hall?

I think any team Hall signs with he’ll be a welcomed asset to any team. He’s a hard worker and doesn’t come across as the prima Donna type of receiver.

My Thoughts:

The Chiefs have some unproven depth on their roster between Markus Kemp, Gehrig Dieter, and the unproven Byron Pringle. So while there is still depth, more so than at tight end, I could see the organization wanting to add depth at the position.

Hall would be an interesting player in that he does have an ability to get down field, has good size. He does have an issue with drops, but surely that’s something he’ll work on when he gets to the pros.

dark. Next. Ten NFL Teams for Emanuel Hall

With the growing need at receiver, the Kansas City Chiefs HAVE to add one in this draft and Emanuel Hall would be a good selection in the second or third round.
