Options for the Third Round and Beyond who have Visited the Chiefs (Continued)

Cole Holcomb, Linebacker (UNC)

More from KC Kingdom

Cole Holcomb is a guy who is right on the edge of being drafted versus being an undrafted free agent. I haven’t seen his name in many mock drafts, but he went all the way up in the fifth round in Dane Brugler, of The Athletic’s, most recent mock draft. The Chiefs spending a fifth rounder on him seems unlikely, but they did bring him in for a Top-30 visit so maybe they are interested enough to draft him in the sixth or seventh round.

Ethan Greenidge, Offensive Line (Villanova)

Greenidge is another player who may or may not get drafted, but the Chiefs brought him in for a Top-30 visit, like Holcomb, so the interest is there whether it be a late round selection or as an undrafted free agent. With the losses of Mitch Morse, Jordan Devey, and possibly Jeff Allen it’s hard to imagine the Chiefs not bringing in at least one rookie offensive lineman. Maybe this is their guy.

Derrick Kelly, Offensive Line (Florida State)

Another lineman who is likely to go undrafted, but had a workout for the Chiefs. This could be a good target for them to sign as an undrafted free agent to come in and compete for a roster spot to add depth to their offensive line.

Tim Ward, EDGE (Old Dominion)

This was interesting to me because there is a pass rusher from Old Dominion that a lot of people are talking about leading up to the draft, but his name isn’t Tim Ward. Oshane Ximines is the EDGE everyone is talking about coming out of Old Dominion, but that didn’t stop the Chiefs from bringing in Ward for a visit. He’ll likely go undrafted, but maybe they’re hoping to sign him as an undrafted free agent.

Conclusion

Chiefs as Avengers. dark. Next

All the players mentioned here, besides Byron Murphy and Nasir Adderley, have visited with or worked out for the Chiefs. So, as you can see, they are bringing in some interesting players.

Just a disclaimer: the Chiefs don’t have to visit with or workout a player to draft them, so this isn’t an exclusive list that they’re picking from, but it is good just to see a few guys that they may be interested in. Make sure you tune into the draft on April 15th to see some of the new faces who will be wearing a Chiefs uniform next season.
