Kansas City Chiefs: First 2019 NFL Mock Draft after free agency
With free agency underway, the Kansas City Chiefs could still make some moves over these next few weeks. That being said, this was the first mock draft KC Kingdom conducted since free agency began.
This mock draft turned out pretty well for the most part. It was done before Bashaud Breeland agreed to come to Kansas City on a one-year deal, otherwise taking two cornerbacks probably wouldn’t happen. One of those picks might have been spent on a safety instead.

Picking up a wide receiver was a bit unexpected too, but with the uncertainty of the Tyreek Hill situation (we still don’t know the whole story there) and Sammy Watkins’ injury history, drafting a high-level talent at wideout isn’t a bad idea.
With such a deep tight end class, the Chiefs were able to wait until Day 3 to draft one. Zach Gentry might not have had eye popping stats, but the good news is they only need a backup to pair with Travis Kelce.
The rest of the selections were on defense and that’s to be expected considering how bad this team was defensively last season. In this mock draft, they picked up two defensive linemen, two cornerbacks, a linebacker, and an edge rusher to add to their defense and hopefully improve it moving forward.
So, Chiefs Kingdom, what do you think of my latest mock draft? Which of these players would intrigue you as members of the Chiefs?
