Kansas City Chiefs: First round draft options in 2019 NFL Draft

FIRST ROUND DRAFT OPTIONS – RUNNING BACK
The Chiefs were forced to move on from Kareem Hunt during the 2019 season and the struggles with the run game showed, especially during the Chargers game. Near the end of that game, the offense was unable to convert first downs and the defense collapsed. That probably doesn’t happen with Hunt in the lineup.

While running back doesn’t appear to be a top need and it’s unlikely a running back is used in the first, there is on specific prospect that could make sense.
Joshua Jacobs, Alabama
Jacobs is honestly one of my favorite running back prospects in years and certainly the top prospect in this draft. Does he make it to 29? I don’t know, the de-valuation of the running back position could very well allow him to be on the board.
Physically, he looks similar to Hunt, but is faster and runs with an intent to punish. Jacobs is the type of running back that could change the entire mentality of the offense.
A great blocker, Jacobs runs with power and good hands. Jacobs is a better version of Kareem Hunt and would make the entire offense better.
