KC Chiefs: 2019 Senior Bowl prospects who could interest Chiefs in draft
By John McCarty
Jimmy Moreland, Cornerback (James Madison)
Jimmy Moreland, to a degree, has emerged as a name to watch during the draft process after a strong showing at the Shrine Bowl led to an invitation to the Senior Bowl. He he did well there, especially in the slot.

Quick and athletic, Moreland showed an ability to stay with more accomplished receivers during the week of practices, especially in the slot.
After netting a total of 18 interceptions during his college career at James Madison, Moreland has also shown an ability to stick in the back pocket of receivers, especially in the short to intermediate routes. Moreland at least shows a willingness to tackle, though his size (5’10” and 180 pounds) does not indicate it will be a strength of his game.
While fast, Moreland will need to show he can cover further down the field, and turn and run. While he appears to have the speed to do, turning and running on deep pass routes is not something he does nearly as well as cover the shorter routes. Moreland certainly has plenty of physical traits that could be attractive given development time and coaching.
Moreland, in the mid to later rounds, would make a lot of sense depending on the Chiefs anticipated direction at the position in free agency.
Will Steven Nelson be re-signed? What about Kendall Fuller, who is up for a new contract after the 2019 season? Depth at a minimum is needed, and Moreland has a lot to work with.
