Kansas City Chiefs: Opponents finalized for 2019 season
Even with the playoffs still on the horizon, we now know who the Kansas City Chiefs will be playing in the 2019 regular season.
The 2019 season isn’t on the minds of many Kansas City Chiefs fans after the good guys locked up home field advantage in the playoffs. That being said, the opponents for the 2019 regular season are now finalized.
Here’s who the Chiefs will play in the 2019 season:

The Chiefs will play their usual AFC West opponents at home and on the road as well as the AFC South and then the winners of the AFC East and AFC North. Somehow, once again, they’ll be set to play the Patriots in Foxborough rather than at Arrowhead. That’s a bit frustrating, as the Patriots haven’t played at Arrowhead since 2014.
They’ll host the Ravens, who won the AFC North, meaning it’s the first time KC won’t have to face the Steelers in the regular season since the 2013 season. That’s a big relief for Chiefs Kingdom, as this season aside, Pittsburgh has had the Chiefs’ number.
2019 also means it’s KC’s turn to play the NFC North and will host the Packers and Vikings while traveling to Chicago and Detroit. The game against the Bears is nearly a lock to be a primetime game, as it’ll be against two playoff teams from this season, has two first round quarterbacks from the 2017 class, and it’ll be Andy Reid vs Matt Nagy.

It’s obviously too early to know what these teams will look like in 2019, but as of now, this schedule looks tough. The AFC South had three teams with winning records and the one team who didn’t have one was in the AFC Championship Game in the 2017 season.
Being the AFC West champs means the Kansas City Chiefs have to play tougher teams and that used to be a problem for our Chiefs, but not anymore. Since Andy Reid took over in 2013, the Chiefs have been AFC West champs three times and has played well against good teams.
If I had to pick out potential primetime games for 2019 at first glance, I already mentioned the Bears, but the Patriots are a likely option too. The Chiefs took the Pats down to the wire this season on Sunday Night Football and actually beat them in Foxborough the year prior.
Chiefs vs Packers and any of the AFC South teams could probably provide for decent primetime affairs too.
What do you think of next year’s regular season schedule, Chiefs fans?
