Despite struggles on the field, the Kansas State Wildcats have reasons to be thankful this time of year. Let’s take a look at some of those reasons.

Kansas State fans are some of the best in all of college football. Their football team isn’t having a typical K-State type of season, but the hoops program is a top 25 ranked unit early in the year. What are some other reasons Kansas State fans have to be thankful for?

REASONS FOR K-STATE FANS TO BE THANKFUL

BILL SNYDER

Kansas State fans and residents of Manhattan have and should always be thankful for Bill Snyder and his family for making this university their permanent home. Before his arrival, the Widcats program had attended a total of one bowl game and never won more than nine games.

For a decade, winning nine games and bowl games were the norm when Snyder got to town. Before Bill Snyder arrived, Kansas State football were kittens chasing a ball, now the football program is nationally recognized.

Tough times have fallen on the football program this year, as the losses piled up. The Wildcats have to win in Ames against Iowa State just to achieve eligibility to make a bowl game, which isn’t ideal, as the Cyclones are ranked.

Struggles on the field against bowl level competition have combined with rumors of the coaches future that have really sapped the wind from the sails of the momentum and excitement of the program.  On a cold November day, few fans choose to attend the last home game. Their absence was glaring.

Despite that, Kansas State has always been a solid university and much of what has happened in Manhattan the past 25 years can be traced back to Snyder’s arrival. The program shall and will always be  thankful for Snyder being in Manhattan.
