Kansas City Chiefs address defense often in early 2019 mock draft
By John McCarty
I honestly don’t expect the Kansas City Chiefs to pick where they are likely going to be slotted, however, I can’t really predict where or why they would be selecting, as the season is still going on.

We’ll also see more picks rack up when the 2018 season comes to a close. Hopefully that comes in February for the Chiefs (after winning the Super Bowl, of course), but for now, all we can do is speculate with the picks we know are certain.
The Chiefs are in the spot where I’d expect them to move back in the draft to address and add more young players. With so many of their roster set to be free agents in the next coming season, adding selections in the next year’s draft makes all the sense in the world for this defensive rebuilding squad.
The Chiefs have been aggressive in past drafts moving up for players, and while I’d expect them to remain aggressive, it’s going the opposite direction. It’s what teams that are successful do.
While this is still a VERY early mock draft, would it be so crazy to see any of these guys wind up in Kansas City? We’ll find out in April.
