The Kansas City Chiefs are 4-0 for the second straight season, but getting to 5-0 won’t be easy. The Chiefs host the Jacksonville Jaguars, one of the toughest defenses, this weekend at Arrowhead.

There’s the old saying of “You are what your record is” and if that’s the case, the Kansas City Chiefs are one of the two best teams in the league right now. The Chiefs, along with the Rams, are undefeated, and look to be a contender in the AFC.

This weekend will answer a lot of questions about the Chiefs. So far, we’ve seen an explosive offense, led by Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, Kareem Hunt, and plenty of other weapons, take the league by storm. On the other side of the field, the Chiefs defense has been a huge liability and is going to make Chiefs fans anxious all season long if things don’t get fixed.

The Chiefs offense is absolutely why this team is 4-0 because the defense is a dumpster fire. If Kansas City wants to go anywhere this season, their offense can’t skip a beat and will have to put up 30+ points on a week-to-week basis.

Again, this weekend will answer a lot of questions. The Jaguars have one of the best defenses in the league (their nickname is Sacksonville for crying out loud) and rode that defense all the way to the AFC Championship Game last year. They slowed down Tom Brady and the Pats (making them look foolish in the process) and could very well do the same to the Chiefs at Arrowhead this weekend.

If that Jags defense is able to limit Mahomes and the Chiefs offense AND the Chiefs defense continues to be a liability, the secret will be out on how to stop this team. We saw the Broncos somewhat limit Mahomes last week and they had a ten point lead heading into the fourth quarter.

From there, Mahomes heated up and the Chiefs defense made a few CRUCIAL stops. We can’t depend on both of those happening every week.

If the Kansas City Chiefs can prevent the Jaguars offense from making more plays than them, they’ll win this game with ease. If, however, the Jags defense does what it’s known for and stops the opposition AND the Chiefs defense lets Blake Bortles do whatever he wants and T.J. Yeldon to run all over the field, this team might show us what they’re really going to be like moving forward.

Hopefully the defense steps it up and makes a few key stops because a lot of NFL fans will have their eyes glued to the TV this weekend. For good reason too, as this could be a potential playoff battle come January.

Will the Chiefs move to 5-0 against one of the best defenses in the league?
