There have been little signs of life this season for Kansas State Football. During the first game of Big 12 play, coach Bill Snyder was unable to revive his team.

These pieces are hard to write. Anything negatively written about Kansas State Football makes many people cringe.

Not as much as this Wildcats offense makes you cringe. For whatever reason, this offense, with a line that should be premier, a running game that should be one of the better ground games in the nation, rather looks like a mediocre community college buried in the Flint Hills of Kansas.

Skylar Thompson looks worse than ever before, Alex Delton is irrelevant, Alex Barnes shouldn’t be starting.

All of that being said, it’s the playcalling that looks worse than all of the above. That falls on Bill Snyder and Andre Coleman.

For one, each offensive play takes way too long to develop. Against even the worst of defenses, you have to get the ball out of the backfield quickly.

Running plays are being misdirected and blown up before they have a chance to even remotely take shape. Passing plays are almost all hurried, with pressure coming from all sides and a quarterback that can’t throw under pressure, or on the run, or in the pocket.

The Wildcats are in trouble, and it doesn’t look like coach Snyder can even set things straight. Things are that bad. The defense is probably playing as expected, perhaps even better than expected considering the offense is doing them no favors.

There is no creativity with Kansas State Football anymore. There are no gimmick plays, no decent option runs, no deep balls downfield.

The coaching for the Wildcats has been atrocious. Absolutely horrible. West Virginia is a great program. Will Grier is a great quarterback. They should have been beaten.

The Mountaineers turned the ball over four times, four times! Kansas State scored three points off those turnovers. There was even a missed field goal by West Virginia. Kansas State couldn’t take advantage of their mistakes.

To put things in perspective, the punter had more yards than anyone else for Kansas State.
