Mizzou football played Purdue last year and it was during that down period for the Tigers. They lost that game 35-3 in Columbia.

It’ll be payback this year, as MU will look to put the beatdown on the Boilermakers in the first half, taking them out of it by half time. If Missouri continues to play how they have the past two weeks, there’s no reason they shouldn’t beat Purdue by at least three touchdowns.

While I know Mizzou fans shouldn’t look ahead, there’s a chance the Tigers could be ranked next week if they take care of business against Purdue. They’d be 3-0 heading into their first game against a ranked opponent (Georgia, who’s third in the country as of now) and fans might have a lot more faith in MU to pull the upset off in that one if they could easily handle Purdue.

Getting back to the game of the week, however, Purdue might be a Power-5 school, but football hasn’t really been their forte since Drew Brees left. They’ve had a tough time making a name for themselves since then and Missouri needs to go about their business as usual in this one.

The Purdue run game might be tough to stop, but the Tigers defense has been solid so far. If they can limit the Boilermaker running backs, then maybe Mizzou football is for real in the SEC this year.
