Drew Lock could take Mizzou Football places it has never been in 2018. If the opening day rout of UT-Martin is an indication, big things are coming.

Mizzou Football has started the 2018 season off with a bang. They handled their first test easily in a rout over UT-Martin. Drew Lock may just be the best quarterback in the nation.

The Tigers offense is no stranger to making big plays. Last season they had the eighth best offense in the country. That offense is being coordinated by someone different this year. First-time play caller Derek Dooley has taken over for Josh Heupel, who took the UCF head coaching position.

Last season Lock set an SEC record for touchdown throws in a season. This year, he is on pace to better that number, through one game, albeit.

Lock went 19/25 for 289 yards and four touchdowns. Pretty impressive for a guy who should be on everyone’s Heisman watch. Lock’s favorite target made some impressive moves himself. The talented receiver Emanuel Hall caught four footballs for 171 yards and two touchdowns. This offense is scary good.

Mizzou dominated the entire facet of the game, from total yards to penalties and turnovers, the Tigers had their way with the Skyhawks, which happens to be an awesome name.

Next week, Mizzou will face a Wyoming team trying to move on from their now NFL quarterback Josh Allen.

If Lock and his receivers can continue the onslaught that they showed against the Skyhawks, Mizzou has a really great chance of doing really great things. The run game could be a bit of a question moving forward, as no one jumped off the board at you, but it is just one game.

The Heisman hype appears to be real this season for Lock, which would be a huge deal for the Mizzou Football program.

The Tigers first game against an SEC foe comes in three weeks when they face off against currently ranked No.3 Georgia.
