Missouri football has high hopes this year, but they’ll have their work cut out for them in 2018. Their toughest game has them traveling to the site of the defending National Champions.

Mizzou should have a good season, but will it be enough to get them into the ranked conversations? Not only that, but will the Tigers perform well enough where they can be dark horse College Football Playoff contenders?

Their schedule is tough, but we’ve seen how much can change with these teams in the SEC. For instance, it’s doubtful people thought Florida would be so bad last year and they won just four games. People also probably didn’t expect Georgia to make it to the title game, but they did just that.

My point is, any team can rise up and any team can disappoint. Missouri should be in the “rise up” category with Drew Lock being the top ranked quarterback in the conference, but sometimes injuries or other unfortunate events happen.

Assuming Lock and the star players stay healthy, Missouri football should be competitive this year. Will they beat Alabama? That I’m not so sure of.

The rest of the tough opponents are certainly winnable games though, with Georgia and Kentucky having to travel to Columbia. South Carolina and Florida might be road games for MU, but they’re certainly winnable games.

Regardless, this should be the best year we’ve seen from Mizzou football in several years. M-I-Z!
