BEST GAMES OF MAHOMES’ COLLEGIATE CAREER – NUMBER 12

TEXAS TECH VS KANSAS STATE – NOVEMBER 14, 2015

We’ll start this list off with a game that might still break the hearts of K-State Wildcat fans. Mahomes, in his sophomore season, was quarterbacking a Texas Tech team that had a 5-5 record. It was late in the season when the Red Raiders hosted a struggling Kansas State squad that had won just three games.

Mahomes got the party started offensively early in this one, throwing a touchdown pass just four minutes into the game. It was a 17-yarder to Justin Stockton that gave the Red Raiders a 7-0 lead.

The next passing touchdown from Mahomes occurred in the second quarter when he hit Devin Lauderdale with a 19-yarder that put TTU up 35-14. It was looking like a blowout in Lubbock and Mahomes was having himself a game.

In the third quarter, Mahomes threw yet another touchdown pass to Stockton (this time for 20 yards). He finished off his impressive day by running into the end zone on a four-yard run in the fourth quarter, giving him one touchdown in every quarter.

Texas Tech went on to win the game by a score of 59-44.

STATS: 33 of 42 for 384 yards, 3 passing touchdowns, 14 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown
