The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is doing something rarely seen from popular celebrities. Patrick Mahomes and friends are taking the town by storm.

Patrick Mahomes has a chance to have his very own statue somewhere in the city when his career is over. The cocky yet humble quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs is unproven on the field, but it is his off-field presence within the city and community that stands out so far.

The Kansas City Chiefs are hoping that not only is he the quarterback of the future, but also the quarterback of the present. The Chiefs have high hopes for the highly hyped gunslinger from Whitehouse, Texas.

Fans have only seen a sample size of Mahomes, but what they’ve seen so far they’ve fallen in love with. He has a skillset that’s unheard of in the NFL. He can do things that people have never seen. He can throw the ball possibly faster than anyone else has ever thrown. He’s an anomaly.

He’s an anomaly off the field as well.

By now you have probably seen the photos of him at the latest NASCAR event at Kansas Speedway, and Mahomes throwing out the first pitch at a Royals home game. He’s been everywhere, all the time.

He isn’t by himself either. Often times he is with his friends, his teammates. He seems to always be accompanied by his best friend on the team, receiver Gehrig Dieter. He’s been seen with Demarcus Robinson, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and many others as well.

He and his fellow Chiefs are changing the culture of Chiefs football in Kansas City. With all the stipulations placed by the front office, there are fewer opportunities for the press to reach out and ask a question, leaving the fans unable to personally get involved with the individuals they root for each and every Sunday.

Even these guys Twitter accounts have gotten notice. Dieter and Mahomes are constantly jawing at each other over sporting events and video games. It makes for a comical exchange to witness.

Recently, Mahomes and friends took another step toward connecting with the public. A possible pickup baseball game? These types of things are unheard of. Mahomes is one of the most active professional athletes on social media, constantly rooting for the teams in Kansas City, as well as his Texas Tech Red Raiders.

He lets people know where he is going to be seemingly every other time he walks out the door. The above tweet may not seem like much. The trend makes it that more compelling as a Chief fan.

As much as fans want a chance at meeting him, he wants to meet the fans. What he’s doing is making waves in a city that will be rooting for him louder and harder than any Chief before him.

Imagine being the guy at the factory on Monday morning. Imagine being able to tell your coworkers what you did over the weekend. Oh, just played some baseball with Patrick Mahomes and a bunch of Chiefs players.

As confident as Mahomes is, he has a unique humbleness about him that will make him a fan and a league favorite. He and his teammates are forming something special and interesting in Kansas City.
