One of the finest to ever wear a Kansas Basketball uniform was drafted 47th overall by the LA Lakers. Fans seem to be indifferent on Svi Mykhailiuk.

If certain Lakers fans didn’t already know, Kansas Basketball fans are some of the best in the collegiate world. They are definitely the loudest. After Thursday’s NBA Draft, the Lakers received a few hundred thousand new fans, picking fan favorite Svi Mykhailiuk.

The LA Lakers drafted Svi Mykhailiuk with the 47th overall pick. A team in desperate need of fixing its three-point percentage just got one of the best three-point shooters to ever play for Kansas Basketball.

Jayhawks fans call him Svi for short. Try it Lakers fans, it will stick, I promise. He loves Little Debbie snacks, his English is broken, but audible, usually, and he may be the best deep threat in this year’s draft.

More from KC Kingdom

He learned to speak English from his roommate at Kansas, Devonte’ Graham. Svi even sounds like Devonte’. It’s kind of creepy. He has a hip-hop way of going about things.

He’s only 20 years old, so he’s an extremely young senior. He has four good years of college basketball under him. Plus his coach at Kansas is pretty good at what he does.

Svi is a sharpshooter. He’s deadly at each point of the court offensively. He more than likely won’t be part of a defensive lineup anytime soon, but his hustle makes up for his lack of defensive ability. And his defense isn’t too bad.

He can absolutely take over a game for the Lakers when he gets hot. He also has a sweet spot on the court. I would imagine his percentage goes up by at least 30 when shooting. I won’t spoil it for you, you’ll see soon enough.

Svi set a school record at Kansas by knocking down 115 three-pointers this past season. He can attack the hoop and soar through the air. His mid-range shot is solid as well.

Svi has a good sense of humor. Los Angeles will enjoy the kid’s personality. He’s fun. He’s a good kid.

The Lakers thought so well of the Kansas Jayhawks they decided to bring two. Malik Newman was added shortly after the draft was over. The Lakers definitely added shooters with these two.

Some Lakers faithful seemed to be upset about picking Svi, and that’s ok. Your attitudes will change drastically the more you see him.
