Marcus Morris has solidified himself as an NBA regular

Marcus Morris had a bit of a rough start to his NBA career. He was drafted 14th overall in the 2011 NBA draft by the Houston Rockets. Since then he has played for four different NBA teams during his seven-year career.

The Big 12 Player of the Year in 2011, he averaged 17 points and nearly eight rebounds per game that season.

Morris played in 71 total games with Houston averaging 7.1 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. On February 21st of 2013, he was traded to the Phoenix Suns.

The next day he played his first game with twin brother Markieff. It was only the second time in NBA history that twin brothers played on the same team. The other set of twins were Dick and Tom Van Arsdale, also with the Suns.

Morris averaged 9.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game during his time at Phoenix. As history indeed repeats itself, he was traded to the Detroit Pistons on July 9th of 2015.

Marcus had his most productive seasons so far with Detroit. For the first time in his career, he started every game he played with the Pistons. His numbers went up dramatically there. He averaged 14.1 points and 4.8 rebounds as a Piston.

Following the 2016-2017 season, he was traded to the Boston Celtics for Avery Bradley and a 2019 second round draft pick. This past season he averaged 13.6 points and 5.4 rebounds as the Celtics made a deep playoff run, finally losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Championship.

Although he has been somewhat of a journeyman, he has become a mainstay at the professional level.
