Kansas City Chiefs: Travis Kelce not ranked high enough on NFL Top 100
By Chris Taylor
Travis Kelce is one of the best weapons the NFL has ever seen. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is among elite being ranked 24th but should be higher.
Travis Kelce is the third member of the Kansas City Chiefs to be featured on the NFL Top 100 as seen on the NFL Network. The rankings are established by the players in the league. Apparently, they didn’t watch many Chiefs games.
What Travis Kelce has meant to the Kansas City Chiefs is more than most players in team history have meant. He is consistently the go-to receiver when the Chiefs needed something big to happen.
His absence during the second half of last year’s divisional round against the Titans is a fine example. Up 22-0 at one point, the Chiefs managed to lose by a single point. Kelce went out of the game after being concussed. Kansas City was a different offensive animal. To say they went from badger to possum is an understatement.
If Kelce stays in Kansas City for the entirety of his career, he will go down as the best to play that position for the Chiefs, which is saying quite a bit since Tony Gonzales once put on the same uniform.

Few players mean as much to their team as Kelce does. The things he can do on the field are unmatched. Although Rob Gronkowski has him beat as far as strength, Kelce has stayed healthier.
Kelce has also caught Gronk as far as pass catching ability goes. The speed Travis has is unmatched in the league, at the position anyhow.
There is also nobody his size that can jump 15 feet for a touchdown. Gronk has had a quarterback named Tom Brady throwing him the ball his whole career as well, no excuse, but it helps.
Kelce should be a top 15 player in the league by now. There are no more questions as to how good he is, he is that good.
Much like I mentioned in the response to Tyreek Hill falling spots from last years ranking, Kelce should have been a top 15 pick here. He did move up two spots, so that’s a plus, but after the season he just had and the fact that he continues to get better doesn’t add up to a two-spot swing.
Kelce has a chance to do even more impressive things with Patrick Mahomes at quarterback. Mismatches should be a regular thing Kelce sees in 2018, with defenses unable to cue in on any particular player.
If there are any other Chiefs on this list, it will be Justin Houston and Eric Berry. Neither of their names has been called yet, which is surprising.

Travis Kelce has a chance to improve on impressive numbers from 2017. If he does so, it will be a travesty if he doesn’t show up higher on next year’s ranking.
