The 2018 Kansas City Chiefs will do things the NFL hasn’t yet seen

When you listen to the offensive coaches speak, the number one narrative that seems to be in play is creativity. Each position coach talks about it. This doesn’t just go for the offense. Special teams and the defense will both be throwing creative looks toward opposing teams this season.

The offense for Kansas City in 2018 has the personnel and the coaching to rival the “Greatest Show on Turf”. The number of weapons and unique skill sets is all over the place.

No matter what your opinion is of Patrick Mahomes, he has the most unique skill set of any quarterback in the league. The things he can do are unrivaled by any other quarterback in the league.

The man can throw deep downfield, and when you use that term, it’s deep man. He doesn’t even have to step into the throw to send it 70 yards with accuracy. He has a pocket presence that makes him look like a veteran. He can throw on the run in either direction with pinpoint accuracy. Mahomes can run, and even in his style of play, he has the knack to be creative with the ball.

Tyreek Hill is the most versatile player in the league. No matter what or where the coaches ask him to play from, he does so with precision and perfection. Not only can he outrun every single defender in the league, he can catch every pass thrown his way.

Hill can maneuver around defenders before and after the ball like nobodies business. Hill is more than likely the best weapon in the league right now.

Sammy Watkins has shown his skills as a pass catcher these last two weeks. Wowing his coaches and teammates alike with his ability to snatch and grab every ball thrown his direction. His circus catches have been a stable in Chiefs camp thus far.

Travis Kelce continues to be a force. He continues to get better and better. Those skills he has shown since coming into the league are will more than likely be enhanced with Mahomes throwing the ball.

Something that isn’t talked about much is how this receiving core and Mahomes compliment each other. Mahomes will make these guys look good. These receivers will make Mahomes look stellar.

The same offensive line is basically back for another year. Although they aren’t as sexy as some other offensive lines in the league, they’ve done a decent job. Keep in mind the leagues leading rusher ran behind this group despite defenses stacking the box. Speaking of that running back…
