It really was pretty even when it came to which players panned out and which ones were busts. Sylvester Morris, Ryan Sims, Glenn Dorsey, Tyson Jackson, Jonathan Baldwin, and Dee Ford could be put into the bust/disappointment category while Derrick Johnson, Tamba Hali, and Eric Berry will surely see their names in the Ring of Honor someday.

From there, we get to the guys like Larry Johnson and Marcus Peters, both good players, but who weren’t particularly liked by a good chunk of the fan base. There’s also players like Eric Fisher, who some might not think has been all that impressive, but others might disagree.

When it comes down to it, the Kansas City Chiefs have actually done pretty well with their first-round selections. Sure they’ve missed pretty big on guys like Jon Baldwin, but every team has a bad first-round pick. Not all first-round picks are going to pan out and that’s what makes the draft so important for NFL teams.
