Nebraska football has seen many of their players go on to play in the NFL at the highest level. Which Huskers could hear their name called on draft weekend this year?

Football season is still a bit away, but for the Cornhuskers who played their final year at the University of Nebraska this past season, the next chapter of their playing career is right around the corner. That next chapter will begin with the 2018 NFL Draft, which is being held April 27-29.

Nebraska football hasn’t been what it once was, but hopefully it’ll be getting back to that powerhouse level again this year under head coach Scott Frost. Even with last year being a season to forget, Big Red could see potentially five players get drafted

Who are the Cornhuskers who could be heading to the pros in this year’s draft? Let’s take a looky loo.

HUSKERS WHO COULD BE DRAFTED – DREW BROWN (KICKER)

While not a sexy position, especially when it comes to the draft, Drew Brown could be one of the Huskers who finds his way to an NFL camp this summer. Brown had a nice career in Lincoln, going 12 of 14 on field goals and making all 37 extra point attempts as a senior last year.

What could prevent Brown from finding an NFL team draft weekend is his lack of 50+ yard attempts. Brown had no such attempts last year and will have to prove that he has the leg to make it in the pros.

Brown might get a shot in training camp or in the preseason, but it wouldn’t shock me if he did not get drafted. That’s not the end of the world for him if he doesn’t get drafted (a lot of kickers don’t), but Brown will have his work cut out for him for sure.

Prediction: Undrafted
