The Kansas City Chiefs have managed to draw out every thinkable emotion from fans during this offseason, leaving them to overreact with every notification.
The fan base of the Kansas City Chiefs were split over the Alex Smith trade, but the return in Kendall Fuller helped ease the pain for those who sided with Smith. As Brett Veach gained praise with his aggressive philosophy, the unimaginable happened.
Marcus Peters was traded, leaving the Chiefs back where they began, needing secondary help. The fact that the Chiefs got very little for the possible future Hall of Fame corner has left a sour taste in fans’ mouths. Since then, the atmosphere has turned from contender to rebuild literally overnight.
Recently, fans have been clamoring for the Chiefs to snatch up each and every player released, with little regard as to what the Chiefs should focus on. Many have given up on the Chiefs for 2018 already. Derrick Johnson is gone as well. The loss of Peters has pushed fans over the edge.
Fear not Chiefs Kingdom. Your team will be just fine. If it helps, imagine Peters is injured all next season. Besides, Berry was injured last season and the Chiefs weren’t the Browns. They would have been better with Berry, but they did decent without him. Berry is back.

Do not forget about the 2017 rushing leader. Kareem Hunt, as of now, will be coming back next year. The leagues leading rusher. Is that not reason for excitement? The fastest man in football will be back as far as we all know. The Chiefs have looked for a leading wide receiver like Hill for over a decade.
Travis Kelce may or may not be the better of the two best tight ends in the game. He should still be on the roster, no matter what you may hear. What he has meant to this offense since he arrived has so far been unmatched.
Then there is Patrick Mahomes. The excitement that was received when the Chiefs moved up to hand-pick him in last years draft has been lost among the chaos of the pre-offseason. Patrick Mahomes may still have some learning to do, but his skill set is unmatched in the NFL. He can do things out on the field that no other quarterback has shown they can do.
The offense will basically be in tact from last season. The defense will be the ultimate focus this offseason. Middle linebacker is a need, so is defensive tackle, defensive end, and as mentioned before, cornerback.
The Chiefs should have plenty of dough to spend on each of these positions. There is a possibility that they may not be able to do everything they want, but positions should be filled either way. The draft should bring in a starter or two, with valuable depth and developmental players as well.

Be patient. Players are being let go left and right. Are we sure the Chiefs want to jump on the first apple that falls from the tree? There is a good chance that the first apple isn’t the sweetest.
The Chiefs will be fine.
